A few years ago I met this absolute badass activist named Elizabeth. I was initially drawn to Elizabeth because she was so caring and compassionate, BUT THEN I realized she was a HERO among troubled teen survivors, one of the daring individuals who spoke out against Oregon’s Mt. Bachelor Academy, her testimony protecting other kids from abuse AND directly leading to that facility’s closure.
A single mom, who, despite lacking familial support, has raised a stellar son (A. just began college), Elizabeth has continued speaking out against the troubled teen industry, protecting other kids from abuse, most recently by working with the team and being interviewed for the must-watch HBO MAX docuseries, Teen Torture, Inc.
